MULTI-MODAL SUFFERFESTS

A crew of American packrafters heads south to the legendary whitewater of Jalcomulco, Mexico - home to some of the most technical rapids in North America. Surrounded by seasoned Class V kayakers and steep jungle canyons, they arrive with lightweight boats, big nerves, and almost no Spanish. What they lack in language, they make up for in grit, curiosity, and a shared obsession with whitewater.

Set against the powerful currents of the Río Antigua, this film captures the raw energy of stepping into unfamiliar water - culturally and literally. As the Americans push their limits alongside locals paddlers, words become secondary.

More than a whitewater film, it’s a story about trust, humility, and the universal language of stoke - proving that even when we don’t speak the same language, the river connects us all.

About Me

Hi! My name is Rachel. I’m a long time backpacker, mountaineer, and overall adventurer who got hooked on packrafting after reading a blog with shiny yellow boats against towering orange walls. After begrudgingly easing into the ultralight life, I realized I suddenly had room for a little extra in my backpack. Now, I spend long days in the desert or the alpine connecting ridgelines and rivers. My content is geared towards ultralight fastpackers and people who are just getting into packrafting.
